the swelling was reducible. During the last six months she observed occasional sickness and fever which she attributed to teething. Condition on admission.?Emaciated, peevish child, much rundown, tendency to vomit after feeds' and slight fever. There was complete inguinal hernia on the right side. Hernia was reducible and there was marked tenderness in the hernial region. Under ether anaesthesia the usual hernial incision was made. On exposing the sac it was found to contain omentum which was adherent to the walls of the sac, caecum and appendix which was about 2 inches long and inflamed. Appendicectomy was done and after the usual hernial repair the wound was closed. The child
